TNPSC GROUP 3 EXAMINATION


TNPSC Group 3 Exam is one of the exams in the Groups Exams. Here are details that you should know before applying for this exam. This includes eligibility, educational qualifications, pattern and syllabus.



CRITERIAS:


Educational qualification

The candidate should possess at least one degree and graduated / Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute with a decent percentage of 60% from any stream.

Age limit

The candidate must be above 21 years as he/she must have passed their degree and the maximum age to apply is 42 years.

Nationality

The candidate must be an Indian citizen with proper citizenship.

SALARY:


The pay scale is fixed by the government. However, it varies across departments and posts. The minimum salary for the candidates who are selected in the Group 3 exams ranges between Rs. 15,200 to 20,500 which includes government facilities like the other group officers.

GROUP 3 EXAM PATTERN:


The exam consists of two parts: one written and the other one oral i.e., interview examination.


    1.Written Examination

The written test is of the Objective Type, and it comprises of three sections: general knowledge, general English, and general Tamil as mentioned above.

There will be two types of question papers. General Knowledge with General Tamil is one, and General Knowledge with General English is another.

The question paper will be structured with 100 questions on general knowledge and the remaining 100 questions in either general English or general Tamil.

General Knowledge questions will be set in both English and Tamil and will be of Degree standard; General Tamil/General English questions will be set in the respective languages and will be of SSLC grade.

The minimum qualifying marks for selection for both the written and oral tests are 102, and the minimum qualifying scores for only the written examination are 90.

    2.Oral Test

The candidates passing through the written exams are selected for the next round i.e., interview round where the maximum mark is for 40.

The minimum qualifying marks for selection to all the communities is 102. Only the candidates who are passing through these two examinations are called for the final selection process. It is purely based on the aggregate of the scores of the two exams. However, the recruitment is based on the marks, as well as category and vacancies. Each year these will change. To know the details about the vacancies and category wise recruitments, you can check on the website itself. The candidates who have appeared for the non-interview posts will be called for certificate verification after which the candidates will be appointment for the posts.


HOW TO APPLY?

The application will be available in the official TNPSC website – http://www.tnpsc.gov.in/


The candidates can apply online with an exam fee Rs. 150 and the cost of the application is Rs. 150. However, certain relaxations for the fee payment are allotted for certain category candidates. Apply using a valid government ID card which you should carry to the examination center. There are various centers around the state. Choose your nearest center at the time of filling the application
